Mt Hess (EPC1634)
The Mt Hess Project covers some 38.4km2 in the North of the Bowen Basin. The project is approximately 65km north east of Moranbah in Queensland and is located between Hail Creek Mine, Hillalong and Lake Elphinstone Deposits. It is adjacent to existing railway. The port of Mackay and Dalrymple Bay are situated at the end of this railway line. Situated in Bowen Basin, The northern Bowen Basin is a southerly plunging synclinorium composed of Permo-Triassic sediments overlain by Tertiary basalts and alluvium. The EPC covers the outcrops of the Fort Cooper Coal Measures or equivalents (Fair Hill Formation) and the underlying Moranbah Coal Measures, all brought to the surface surrounding Mt Gotthard. Two resource exploration targets have been identified on the Mt Hess EPC1634. Target one the Permian Moranbah Coal Measures, metallurgical coal subcrop. The Subcrop strikes North-South for 7km and is a resource exploration Target. Target two the Permian Moranbah Coal Measures, metallurgical coal subcrop. A 10 – 20km2 northern area of the EPC contains an anticline of coal sediments brought to the subsurface. |
